MLA Sandeep Naik says city needs designated stop for State buses, state transport minister obliges

Navi Mumbai is all set to have its own designated State Transport bus deport in the coming days. In the winter session of the Maharashtra Assembly in Nagpur, Member of Legislative Assembly Sandeep naik urged the state transport minister Gulbrao Devkar to designate a bus depot for city residents. Narul has been zeroed in as the potential sport for the new bus stop.

The point was raised by Naik during the question and answer hour in the assembly. Naik said, " Navi Mumbai has grown as a city and is a very important stop for commuters who go to their native place form Mumbai. Many State Transport buses pass through the city. There are no designated bus depots in the city for State transport buses. If a depot is designated, it will help residents of the city tremendously."

Naik added, "Work on this depot needs to be done with urgency. We want commuters to have a comfortable journey and also wan them to be able to catch a bus to their native place form the city."

Speaking about the spot for the bus depot, Naik said, "Sector 32 In Nerul is a good spot for the proposed bus depot. The feasibility of the plan must be studied at the earliest and work should commence soon."

Heeding Naik's suggestion, state transport minister Gulabrao Devkar obliged and said that he would look into the suggestion.
