In Thane region, especially in the areas of Ghodbunder, Thane, Kalyan, Bhiwandi and Navi Mumbai, several hours of daily traffic jams lead to problems for thousands of passengers and motorists. The services roads along with the main roads are blocked by illegal parking on a large scale. I raised the issue in the legislative assembly.

The government replied that earlier the Thane-Belapur road work was in progress and hence there were traffic jams on the road. However, now the work has been completed and there are no traffic jams in the area. At the Thane district planning committee meeting held on June 21, 2010, onbeing done with the help of Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation, Thane Municipal Corporation and Thane Traffic department. |
